Scope and Contents This is a photocopy of a letter from Oscar Burbank to Dr. W. A. Rohlf, of Waverly, Iowa, written on November 30, 1899. In the letter Burbank recalls witnessing what he states was the first use of ether in a surgical operation. Dr. W. T. G. Morton apparently originated the use of ether. He asked Dr. Warren to use the anesthetic procedure in a surgical operation. Dr. Warren then performed the operation in November 1846 at Massachusetts General Hospital. Lindsay Seals lecture notebook

This is the college notebook of a man named Lindsay Seals. It contains the lecture notes he took for two classes. The first half covers metaphysics as taught by a Dr. Wylie, while the second half has notes from Rhetoric and Oratory. The name of the teacher of this second course is unknown.
